Interesting article: just one minor correction, the Chernbyl reactor was graphite moderated, but water cooled. Was a BWR with graphite moderator. Maybe you confounded it with the british Magnox.

Erica, You are right in that it would scare people, and some would react negatively. But the goal here is just to change the framing so that denying a vaccine becomes the act, instead of giving the vaccine. I think that would really change the way parents perceive the risks. Perhaps the idea can be refined...

I like the thinking behind your idea. That's really what it is, right? Russian Roulette. I'm not sure it would work though. It would scare people, and potentially get parents to think with a different frame on the issue. But, would it move people to action? Fear appeals are really difficult to pull off, especially in our culture, and I think people would see this as so scary, that they'd either avoid the message or take a defiant stance against it.

I didn't *know* that it would be bad, I just went in with low expectations.

Had I known how insanely disappointed I would be afterwards I never would have bothered to begin with. It's been a long time since I was so strongly disappointed in a movie.

While I bought the first movie for the sake of having it in my collection due to being such a fan when I was a kid, I have no intention of ever owning the second one.

I'll admit I've tended to prefer roommates near my age if only so I don't bother others with my habits. I had a roommate in college who was at a different life stage than me (24 when I was 18) and our schedules and ideas on responsibility clashed badly enough that while I'm friends with people of other ages, I would be very hesitant to live with someone who was of a very different age. I don't expect all 24 year olds to have different habits than 34 year olds, but I would be worried that a roommate who was ten years older would look down on some of my "less mature" habits.

Not related to your post (though interesting) but I want to know how difficult it would be to learn some basic ways of increasing page views to a site. It's not for AIR so I didn't want to email you at work. Saw this on twitter and figured you could always delete the comment after receiving it. The site I want to figure out how to promote is not the Capital Animals site.
