I like the thinking behind your idea. That’s really what it is, right? Russian Roulette. I’m not sure it would work though. It would scare people, and potentially get parents to think with a different frame on the issue. But, would it move people to action? Fear appeals are really difficult to pull off, especially in our culture, and I think people would see this as so scary, that they’d either avoid the message or take a defiant stance against it.

Erica, You are right in that it would scare people, and some would react negatively. But the goal here is just to change the framing so that denying a vaccine becomes the act, instead of giving the vaccine. I think that would really change the way parents perceive the risks. Perhaps the idea can be refined…
